Browser-based processing
This extension processes all your photos and their metadata entirely inside your browser, on your device. Your files are never uploaded. The only server the extension contacts is ExtensionPay, for the license check and payment described under "Payment processing" below — no files, file names, or metadata leave your device.
What the extension reads
The extension reads the photo files you choose to select or drop, and the .json sidecar files that sit next to them in your export. It uses the dates and GPS coordinates found in those sidecar files to write the missing values back into your photos, on your device. The extension does not automatically scan your browser tabs, browsing history, or any files other than the ones you explicitly select.
Payment processing
Payments for the Pro upgrade are handled by ExtensionPay (ExtPay), which uses Stripe, Inc. as its payment processor. We do not receive or store your full payment card details on our servers. To process your purchase, ExtensionPay and Stripe receive information such as your email address and payment card details, and they maintain your billing and purchase (license) status. See the ExtensionPay website and Stripe's privacy policy for how they handle your data.
External transmission (Japan Telecommunications Business Act, Art. 27-12)
When this extension checks whether you have purchased Pro, it connects to ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com). The only information sent is a license/payment status request associated with this extension and your ExtensionPay account; your photos, file names, and metadata are never sent. When you choose to upgrade, the extension opens ExtensionPay's payment page in a new browser tab, where ExtensionPay and its payment processor Stripe, Inc. collect your email address and payment details. ExtensionPay and Stripe use this information to verify your purchase and process payments, including fraud prevention.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
Our handling of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. This extension processes your files locally on your device and does not transmit your files, file names, or metadata to any server.
Extension storage
The extension uses the browser's storage permission for two things. Our own code keeps a single record: whether you currently hold a Pro licence, and when we last checked. Our payment provider's library, ExtensionPay, keeps the licence record it needs in order to recognise your purchase: a random key created for this installation, the date you installed the extension, and the licence status returned by extensionpay.com, which after a purchase includes the email address you paid with and the date of that purchase. These records are written through the browser's extension storage API, which your browser copies to your other signed-in browsers if you have browser sync switched on. Your photos, their metadata, and their file names are never written to extension storage, and are never part of what is synchronised.
